What’s Bruiser Playing?

This is just going to be a continually updated post with whatever Bruiser is playing, a great way to get a peek into the collection, see what might be on the cards for future reviews and just in general, comment, see and discuss what Bruiser is playing. Any recommendations are also appreciated, cheers.

June 2012 – Not much time to game because I’ve been editing, heaps. Just to give you some idea of the scope, as of writing I’ve got 2 Megadrive, 4 Neo Geo CD, 1 Atari Jaguar and a Super Nintendo title I’m working on. That’s right, my first Super Nintendo game review *might* be coming sometime.  As for games, I’ve been rounding out my Jaguar fighting collection with Kasumi Ninja and Ultra Vortek, why? Because these games are unique, and if you’re after something a little less polished and refined and a little stupid, then Jaguar fighting games are the best, and they still play better than Primal Rage for the Megadrive.

May 2012 – Lots of Neo Geo CD. I got the console back in February and I’m still really smitten with it. I spent the time this month playing Samurai Shodown 4 and Ninja Commando. All this Neo Geo lately actually prompted me to get Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy for the Jaguar as well. There’ll be a few shooters coming up in the reviews over the next few months (shooters really need the street cred). Also, have been playing more Lynx lately, especially Klax and Ninja Gaiden.. I like a mental AND a physical workout.

April 2012 – Heavy on the fighters this month – Dreamcast, Saturn, Atari Jaguar and the Neo Geo CD were all fired up – The Jaguar was obviously one of the first to get powered back down again (because, Bruce Lee), but I really got into the Street Fighters and King of Fighter games (95 and 97). All this kind of came together with Capcom vs Snk 2 for the Dreamcast; One of the best fighting games I’ve ever played. Also gave the Saturn a bit more love with Guardian Heroes, obviously, beat ’em ups score pretty highly in my books, well, this one totally tops the chart if you’re looking for a fresh approach to beating dudes up.
