1000 Subscriber Leftover Culture Review Super-Special

1000 Subscriber Special

A big thanks to all the channels, subscribers and websites that got me this far!

The Leftover Culture Review has hit the 1k club! For a long time, I’ve often had fans of the show refer to the LOCR as the most underrated video game web series around… It’s been a strange and conflicting title. On one hand, despite subscriber numbers the LOCR has fans, people who have enjoyed the show and want to contribute and on the other hand, it feels like for the most part, the Leftover Culture Review has managed to stay relatively underground.

There’s been a few decisions on my behalf that I believe hindered it’s popularity, focusing strictly on reviews instead of broadening the content with let’s plays, unboxings and pickups. When I started the show, I envisioned episodes like a TV programme; consistent, solid content. Choosing to distribute primarily through Blip meant neglecting YouTube, and it’s only been in the last 6 months that I’ve really tried to make both platforms work better side-by-side.

Subscriber-ship has been slow over these 3 years, but it’s always building momentum, hitting 1000 felt like a significant milestone in the journey but as I write this post, the LOCR is at 1300 subscribers with some big plans in the works to hopefully reach the 2000 subscriber mark by the end of the year.

Anyway, I’ll be sure to have a much more extensive end of year wrap up… We’re not even halfway through 2014 yet but this was an awesome experience putting this video together and I’m stoked so many people have helped and contributed to the show.
