Bruiser’s Christmas Wishlist 2014

Bruiser’s Christmas Wishlist 2014

This is what I’ll be asking Santa for in 2014

So a last minute Christmas surprise, my wishlist from 2014! I hadn’t planned on filming anything after the Christmas NiGHTS review,  but when Super Derek approached me about contributing to his Christmas Spectacular, I had to jump at the chance to film something for his video.

I’m very sure your list is totally different to mine. That’s what makes them fun! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you’re expecting. Hopefully there’s a few new ideas or things you may not have thought of or considered.

Top of my list is an Android Gaming tablet, something I can experience a few of the newer, flashy Android titles but more importantly, carry my retro gaming library with me. With some awesome emulation support for nearly every system ever (including handhelds like the PSP and DS), an Android Tablet like this could easily become my main gaming device when I’m away from the house.

Two stand out current generation titles during the year have been Alien Isolation and The Evil Within. I was super excited when both these games launched this year but due to my total lack of time, I still haven’t been able to justify picking them up. Obviously, these are games I’d be totally stoked to own, play and finish… eventually.

Of course I like games and gaming devices, but since it’s my wish list, I wanted to add two action figure lines that caught my eye this year (that I wasn’t planning on spending my own pocket money). Sonic Boom, even though the games themselves haven’t made a great impact, have at least given us a new line of Sonic the hedgehog action figures from Tomy. These things look colourful and fun… and I am such a sucker for vehicles and playsets. Something that I felt was lacking with the more recent Jazware offering.

I was also keenly following the ReAction Alien line of toys from Funko and Super7. Such an interesting concept and even though the toys look very basic and simple, they really echo that era for action figures. Not made for the adult collectors or for display, but designed for actually playing with. It’s one of the reasons I have so many Playmates figures in the games room (see Earthworm Jim action figures here and Toxic Crusaders here). Even though, again, I couldn’t see myself picking these Alien figures up at the current price, I’d still love to find them under the tree.

Finally, looking back at the year I’ve just had, it made me realise how thankful I am for all the producers consistently putting out quality content for free and allowing there to be a gaming community on YouTube at all. Why not ask Santa to help me support them? There’s literally way too many shows to list here, and each of you will have your own favourites, so here’s a very small sampling of what’s on my Wishlist.
