Mighty Max Lashes Lizard – Geela Guts – Doom Zone Playset Review

Mighty Max Lashes Lizard (Geela Guts)

Doom Zone Playset Review

Mighty Max lashes the Lizard was released in the in third wave of the Doom Zone playset series, alongside some of my favourite playsets like Mighty Max Swats the Fly, Mighty Max Sinks Nautilus and Mighty Max Bytes Cyberskull. Bluebird toys were making some extremely interesting Doom Zones and considering the unique shape of this set, Bluebird Toys were able to add multiple play features and included monsters.

Mighty max Lashes the Lizard is based off Mighty Max’s lizard from the animated TV cartoon, Thor. By the third wave of Doom Zones, the relationship between the toyline and the cartoon was close. Episodes were influenced by available toys, and new playsets were designed off ideas explored in the cartoons. Mighty Max’s lizard is a fantastic addition to the toyline and Bluebird toys added some cool features to make this one special. Mighty Max Lashes Lizard includes an external play feature where the lizard tongue flicks as you twist the horn on its leg.

For such a compact playset, we get two different monster figures; the Parasite Prince and the Ulcer Monster as well as multiple play features. There’s a mini ribcage prison, the arm lifts to reveal the Ulcer Monster and a slide for Mighty Max down the ribs featured on the top of the playset. The whole playset has a biological theme. As you open it up, you notice the guts and bones that form the inside of the set. The bottom of the playset features a gastric pit where the Ulcer Monsters thrive covered in purple gunk.

Lashes Lizard Comic Panel

The comic panel included for Mighty Max lashes the lizard is unique. It’s the first time Mighty max doesn’t get to beat the bad guy. He gets caught and wakes up instead. It’s a little anti-climatic, but it works really well with the inside of the playset and the play features included. We get to see both enemy figures in action, the Parasitic Prince Genie Figure and the parasitic Ulcer Monster figure. It also explains how Mighty Max’s lizard, Thor, grew large enough to eat him.
