Grossery Gang Action Figures – Putrid Power, Bug Strike & Time Wars (Moose Toys)

Welcome to the Grossery Gang

A collection of disgusting action figures

A disgusting team of rotten food items from Moose Toys. The spiritual successor to the Trash Pack toy line, Moose Toys took their Grossery Gang toy line a step further and started offering a series of action figures. For the first series, we got to see 9 different Grossery Gang characters get turned into full-fledged action figures.

Over the next two toy lines, Bug Strike and Time Wars, Moose Toys released several of the characters again, but continued to add some fantastic and gross figures. Each of the toy lines even got their own tie-in cartoon movie.

Putrid Power

For the first wave of action figures featuring the Grossery Gang characters, Moose Toys released the Putrid Power toy line. With 9 different super-sized Grossery Gang action figures to collect, each package comes with the action figure, a weapon and an exclusive mini squishy Grossery Gang character.

Some of the mini squishy characters are updates from various Grossery Gang waves, but there’s a handful that weren’t seen since the Trash pack toyline, such as Blow Fly. For the 9 characters available in the Putrid Power toy line, 8 of them are disgusting heroes, from food, to a trash can to a blow fly. The villain, Vac-Attack, is a sleek, clean, robotic looking vacuum cleaner. The miniature pack-in figure is made of a solid, hard plastic unlike the rest of the toy line. Vac-Attack and his clean team cronies are

Moose toys also developed a cartoon series and movie to tie-into these disgusting grotty food items.

Putrid Pizza

One disgusting pizza slice! Putrid Pizza stands out as one of the mainstays of the toy line, one true crusty crusader of justice. Putrid Pizza comes armed with a pizza trowel and a bad attitude.

The Putrid Pizza figure is a clear standout within the Putrid Power toy line and incorporates a range of things that make the toys really stand out. The disgusting slop, mad facial expression, amazing gradients and plenty of textures with all the ingredients molded into the plastic.

Putrid Pizza got alternative versions in both the Bug Strike and Time Wars action figure lines, and was joined by another pizza-based character, Cyber-Slop Pizza, that played the villain in the Time Wars series.

AKA: Pizza Face

Pizza Face is one slop with the lot. The never-say-die leader of The Grossery Gang is ready to lead his gross gang into greasy battle. With his pizza slicer weapon he’ll serve it up to his opponents. Defeating the Clean Team will not be cheesy but Pizza Face is a supreme fighter! Get ready to fight dirty!

Dodgey Donut

This donut brings a very unique shape to the toy line, but Moose toys managed to capture this mad donut really well with the bulging eyes, melted frosting and rings around his arms and legs. The exclusive pack in squishy Grossery Gang mini-figure is a redesign of the previous Dodgey Donut released in series 1. Moose toys managed to make the donut shape work better in miniature size while retaining a lot of the details. Armed with a set of nunchuks, Dodgey Donut is a valued member of the Grossery Gang team and instrumental in bringing down the clean team when they attach Cheap Town.

AKA: Rocky

Rock hard and ready to roll, Dodgey Donut is rude, crude and barely food! Dodgey Donut is a hole lotta trouble! With limbs of iced rings, he’s a donut who’s about to go nuts! When it’s time for a dirty battle, he’s the one you’ll want by your side. This scrappy snack is always ’round when you need him! Get ready to fight dirty!

Grub Sub

As a massive meat submarine sandwich, Grub Sub has some fantastic textures throughout the figure. The filling, the ingredients all held together with mouldy bread make Grub Sub a force to be reckoned with! Armed with a sauce bottle and, in the cartoon, a heavy Southern accent, he’s one tough sandwich. Grub Sub was an existing Grossery Gang squishy before the Putrid Power toy line, but the exclusive pack-in Grub Sub mini-figure looks fantastic.

In the cartoons, Grub Sub has the ability to fire meatballs. He’s described as the life of the party-platter and gets a real kick out of bossing the Grossery Gang around.

AKA: Meathead

Loud, proud and easy to spot in a crowd, Grub Sub thinks he’s the life of the party! But when the Putrid Power kicks in he’s the force with the sauce! He’s a moldy Bread Head who’s ready to sandwich anyone who gets in his way. Get ready to fight dirty!

Gooey Chewie

A sticky piece of gum, it feels like Gooey Chewie is a character that really gets around! Very similar to a character from the Trash pack toy line, Scum Gum, Gooey Chewie has the ability to slide silently, slingshot himself and stick to the bad guys.

The action figure itself is very slender, like stretched out gum stuck to pavement, with big bulbous eyes and an incredible layered texture. The entire action figure has a pink-purple gradient and comes packaged with a slingshot. According to his bio, it’s to flung himself as a weapon.

AKA: Gooey

Extra crude and already chewed, this dude’s not “Old School” – he’s “Old Drool!” Icky and sticky, gooey Chewie can’t wait to get his sticky hands on the Clean Team. They had better watch out for his sloppy slingshot because when he hits, he sticks! Get ready to fight dirty!

Fungus Fries

A grotty bag of feral french fries, Fungus Fries AKA Chips McGraw. This character is based of a common Gross Greasy, but there were other french fry characters in both the Shopkins and Trash pack toy lines. The Fungus Fries figure is boxy, but the colour combination of yellow, red and green is incredibly saturated and vivid. Armed with a fry basket, a lot of the weapons from the Putrid Power line aren’t imaginative but the mini-squishy figure sits perfectly inside it.

Fungus Fries didn’t make it into the original cartoon series, but the character was heavily used in promoting the toy line. Moose created prototypes with Fungus Fries, alternative artwork and even promotional costumes for meet-and-greets. Released during the first run of Grossery gang figures, Fungus Fries is a common Gross Greasies character. The exclusive squsihy mini-figure released with the Putrid Power action figure is a lot more expressive.

AKA: Chips McGraw

Fungus Fries is proof that you don’t need to be crazy to live in the Yucky Mart – but it sure helps! Fungus Fries is packed with grease. This makes him a slippery dude to catch! A little crazy and mostly mad, he’s a team member who always chips into battle, His motto; “Winning’s easy when you’re extra greasy!” Get ready to fight dirty!

Squished Banana

This is one bright banana with glops of purple goo, armed with a smaller banana baton. The Putrid Power action figures have incredible textures, and Squished Banana is no exception. The banana peel is split like a suit, exposing the veiny arms and legs.

AKA: Ricardo

Squished Banana is the most unappeeling dude you’ll meet! Some days he’s a romantic fool, some days he’s a rotten fruit. You’ll never know because of his SPLIT personality! This guy can’t wait to get his slimey slippery hands on the Clean Team and put a few bends into them so he can impress the Grossery of his dreams! Get ready to fight dirty!

Vac Attack

The villain coming to clean up Cheap Town, Vac Attack is a menacing vacuum cleaner ready to dispose of the Grossery Gang with the help of his clean team. The clean team mini-Grossery gang characters are all solid plastic and hard, just like the pack-in mini-figure for Vac Attack.

Vac Attacks weapon are the hoses, used to clean up the Grossery Gang and they attack directly to his back. Vac Attack is a combination of bright, shiny metallic plastic and dark-grey transparent plastic.

AKA: Oh Great And Shiny One

Don’t mess with this sucker! Vac Attack’s mission is to suck up the muck and tidy the trash! Hey may look spotless but his hands are definitely not clean! The Grossery Gang had better watch out because he’s one mean cleaning machine who’s out to stop the slop one sticky stain at a time! Get ready to fight dirty!

Bug Strike

The Bug Strike toy line introduced a new enemy for the Grossery Gang team to defeat. A bug invasion into Cheap Town. We get a handful of repaints as the original Putrid Power team gear up for war, but we also get a handful of new characters here to help.

Instead of Vac-Attack, the main villain this time is General Arak-Attack, an Australian-sounding insect the leads the bug army into Cheap Town. With 9 characters in the Bug Strike toy line, 6 of them are returning from the original action figure toy line, with two new Grossery Gang heroes, Capt. Lice-Cream and Grot Dog.

Capt. Lice Cream

One of the new heroes introduced with the Bug Strike toy line, Capt. Lice Cream, with a new mini-squishy Grossery Gang character. The Bug Strike toy line brought some fantastic action-features to the toy line. Capt. Lice Cream brings an ice-cream scoop that he can use to flick his mini-mint buddy. A detachable squishy micro Grossery gang figure.

Capt. Lice Cream also has a launching head with a trigger on the back of the ice-cream cone. The textures between the waffle cone, ice cream and topping colours capture a very unique look. The mini squishy Lice Cream character captures the look of the action figure well. Not all the details managed to be painted, but Moose Toys really managed to create an amazing unique figure here.

AKA: Icky Ice Cream

Captain Lice Cream is a sloppy, mean, fightin’ machine who’s ready to take on the bugs “HEAD ON” with his Rollin’ and Bowlin’ Head! Always angry because of a constant brain freeze, the best place to send this cold-hearted guy is to the battle field!

 Grot Dog

After Capt. Lice Cream, Grot dog is the second brand new Grossery Gang character to join the good guys in Bug Strike. We have a disgusting Hot Dog in a mouldy bun, topped with mustard and a heavy duty onion on a spiked mace.

Grot Dog’s action feature is a spring-loaded arm that helps him destroy the Bug Strike team with his mace. The colours are bright and vibrant, and the small pieces of clothing, such as gloves and his sneaker, really add a pop of colour and texture. The exclusive Grossery gang mini-squishy character is all new, but not the first hot dog.

AKA: Franco

Grot Dog can bring tears to his opponent’s eyes as he whips his spiky onion mace about! There’s one thing that bugs him more than a stale bun and that’s the dirty bugs who are trying to take over Cheap Town! Grot Dog is a foot long warrior who’s ready to do his wurst!
